I Think I See Gold!

Filed under: New Age Philosophy — admin at 11:46 pm on Wednesday, April 30, 2008

I bet you are saying to yourself what in the hell is this person talking about? Now hold on before you judge me, give me a chance to redeem myself and make sense of this whole chapter. Even the title will make sense in just a short while, so just hold on to those opinions and let me have a shot - Thank You!

Let us say your house burned down and all that you were able to get out of it was you and your wife and children. Now do not get me wrong that is the most important thing to get out. At least your family is safe. Yet you are sad because everything you had is gone. All your cloths are gone. You are overwhelmed by the loss you are now suffering. Then a strange thing happens you look down in the ashes and you think you see gold in the fire. Somehow it is different; it is like all your desires.

What this means you are wondering to yourself? It hits you - your house was worth $85000 and they, (the insurance company) are willing to pay you 130,000! This amount staggers you… now you can get a new house and still have enough to get clothes, a TV, and the whole works.

So when things seem bad, look in the ashes and there is surely some gold there. I must let you know, it’s from your lowest point that is when you see gold and things turn around for you and this enables you to make it to your greatest heights. Therefore, that is why you should look for gold in the fire. When things look the worst that is when we make it to our greatest heights.

What is another reason to look for the gold? Let us say your marriage is in the dumps. All you do is fight with her, always yelling at one another and all you feel is anger. How do we find gold in the fire? Instead of fueling the fire, you need to look at ways to put the fire out and this will be your gold in the ashes.

Maybe you should work on yourself instead of trying to change her, why not change yourself. Love her for who she is (there is a nugget!) Buy her a rose for no special reason and tell her you love her. You will be surprised at how she will change if you are just willing to kill her with kindness (there is another nugget!)

Therefore, I hope you see how you can see gold in any bad situation. How, with a little effort on your part, you can turn the ashes into whatever you want to. You have the power to turn the gold into anything that you want. Therefore, the next time you see ashes and a fire in a bad situation, know that your greatest triumphs come from your lowest lows.

When you see gold in the fire it may be that little voice inside of you saying hey, it is not so bad here. Is there a way we can get out of this mess and yes that IS a golden nugget - please does not waste it! It truly is a gift from God and you should act on this idea.

Please know if you look in the ashes long enough, you will see the gold! Therefore, hang in there when times get tough as victory is just around the corner. Stop and look for the gold in the ashes and the plan will be given to you before long. You will be saying I think I see gold in the fire!

London & UK Restaurant Reviews

Filed under: Web Of Travel — admin at 6:08 pm on Tuesday, April 29, 2008

Hardens eating guide all really started in the early 1990’s it was noticed that London as a popular city had no Thai restaurant guides at all. The idea was to design something that was pocket sized that food lovers could use to assist them to decide where is a good restaurant to eat. More than 12 years ago the first London Tunisian restaurant guide was made available through hardens and has been a dazzling success ever since.

What makes Hardens so fresh is that the London Restaurants are rated by the purchasers, when the first ever restaurant guide was printed the food business was just starting to change and with terrific difficulty Hardens managed to ask a hundred restaurant customers to take part in the first London wide restaurant survey. Over 600 restaurant meals over a nine month period were eaten to make the Hardens Restaurant review guide what it is these days.

Hardens have the published restaurant reviews and now have an informative website. The educational website is effortless to move around and can tell folk everything you need to know about pretty much any Brazilian restaurant in London and give you suggestions split into pieces so it makes it easier for you to narrow down what it is that you are exactly looking for. Get assistance planning a night out with great Restaurant Reviews by customers.

The brilliant website itself has lots of bits recommended on it, it is easy to digest and work your way through and this is thanks to its excellent clear layout you can look up all the greatest up and coming afghani restaurants and of course reviews on them. This bit is named Latest Reviews and is clearly sitting on the opening page of the restaurant review website where you can view the big list of American restaurants which changes every couple of weeks depending on what restaurant reviews have been written. There is also an area down the right hand side of the home page where clients can browse for perhaps a specific Indian restaurant or if you’re looking for a restaurant to go to in a specific area such as Newcastle and clients want to separate the brilliant ones for the awful restaurants this will do the job perfectly for you.

Conversations in Management: Lincoln’s Beard - Abraham Lincoln in a Letter to Grace Bedell

Filed under: Universe Of Management — admin at 5:14 pm on Tuesday, April 29, 2008

“My dear little Miss…As to the whiskers, having never worn any, do you not think people would call it a piece of silly affectation if I were to begin it now?” -Abraham Lincoln in a letter to Grace Bedell

Clean shaven presidential candidate Lincoln wrote this letter in response to 11 year old Grace Bedell’s suggestion that he grow a beard. Though prohibited by both age and gender from voting, Grace was none-the-less an ardent Lincoln supporter. Grace’s father and “part” of her four brothers were already on the Lincoln band wagon, but Grace thought they could do better. She wrote the candidate explaining, “…if you let your whiskers grow I will try and get the rest of them to vote for you. You would look a great deal better for your face is so thin. All the ladies like whiskers and they would tease their husbands to vote for you and then you would be President.” By modern standards Grace was a one-girl focus group.

That Lincoln took time to kindly respond to the concerns of a young girl just weeks before the election says something about both the age and the man. (It also says something about the U.S. Postal Service that a letter written in rural New York on October 15th was being responded to from rural Illinois on October 19th!) But it didn’t end there. When Lincoln passed through Grace’s home town on the way to his inauguration four months later, he called her to the platform, gave her a kiss and pointed out that he’d taken her advice. After 50 beardless years, Abraham Lincoln had sprouted a full set of whiskers on the recommendation of a very unlikely source. And that’s what’s really remarkable about this story.

You see, Lincoln did something most of us struggle withhe tried something new. He was initially reluctant because he thought people might think he was putting on airs or perhaps he feared they would think him foolish. Neither impression would be a good thing just prior to an election. Yet within a few weeks of receiving Grace Bedell’s letter, he retired his razor. He took a risk, did something different and it worked. The bearded Lincoln is an iconic image. The beard provides him with a gravitas that seems to frame his personality and capture his spirit. In fact, it’s hard to imagine how he succeeded so long without it!

But there’s something more significant going on here as well. Lincoln’s decision to grow a beard indicates a willingness to take advice from unusual sources. We all know people whose advice and counsel we value when making decisions. Often we value these sources because they tend to confirm what we already believethey reflect our common knowledge about life and the world. If someone new offers another perspective or frames an issue differently, we tend to dismiss it. Yet positive change and breakthrough thinking comes from the fringes of our experience. Personal and professional growth come when we accept and try out ideas that are discordant with our usual way of thinking. This doesn’t mean you should try every harebrained scheme and act on every crackpot notion you encounter. But if the source is credible, don’t discount the idea just because it’s different. The hallmark of a truly great leader is the willingness to consider and act on something radically new. So give it a shotyou might end up with your own version of Lincoln’s beard!

Income: Have More Than One Source

Filed under: Investing In Markets — admin at 12:37 pm on Monday, April 28, 2008

Money is necessary to have a decent life. If a person is unable to afford the things they need they will have a difficult life because their mind will constantly be focused on their financial situation.

One of the best ways to avoid putting yourself in that type of situation is to have multiple streams of income. Even if you are employed and think you will be at your current job forever you still have to focus on obtaining multiple sources of income. Doing so is not that difficult, especially with the internet. Things like an e-commerce website or an eBay store can make anyone who is willing to take the time to find products and advertise extra money. Other sources of income can come from websites that make money off of advertising revenue or affiliate programs. Believe it or not there are several people make five and six figure income each month off of that method.

Another quality form of extra income is real estate. If you purchase a rental property, you could make $200 to $300 per month. Although you must have the availability to maintain the property.

No matter how much money you make it is always good to have other sources of revenue. You never know when it can come in handy.

vocational schools courses in fashion design

Filed under: Design, Layout, Education Special — admin at 11:51 am on Monday, April 28, 2008

Fashion design vocational schools teach the fundamentals of fashion design in two-year programs. An Associate of Arts degree or a certificate in the field of fashion may be earned in these schools. Some industry leaders consider schools that provide vocational training superior to the training one would receive in a four year college, because they have a closer relationship to the garment industry.

The majority of vocational schools offer two-tiered certificate programs that accompany an Associate of Arts degree. A fast start in the profession is available with a first level qualification. This short certificate prepares recipients for employment as Design Room Assistants. Employment as an assistant in a busy design room brings to the employee an exciting assortment of tasks and duties.

Although more time is required to complete a second-level proficiency certificate, these applicants have a better chance of being selected for a position as an Assistant Designer. The job of an assistant designer typically involves drafting flat sketches of garments, and including necessary details for manufacture. Knowledge of fabric construction and an ability to order fabric and trims is essential. Since they will be called on to complete many jobs around the design room, they must be highly flexible individuals, as well as responsible.

Sauna Accessories for an Even Better Sauna Bath

Filed under: Best Home Improvement — admin at 11:33 am on Sunday, April 27, 2008

Every experienced sauna bather knows how valuable the right sauna accessories can be. Oftentimes, it is these accoutrements that make the difference between a sauna session that is second-rate and one that is truly superior. Used properly, sauna accessories can help a sauna bather create the perfect ambience for a relaxing and refreshing soak in the soothing heat of a sauna.

The following is a list of some of the more common sauna accessories used by sauna enthusiasts around the world:

Loofah sponges - When used as a bath sponge, the loofah, a very popular item in Asian baths and European spas, is known to produce a mild glow and to revitalize the skin. It is a natural, organic, cleansing sponge that is also known for improving blood circulation, exfoliating dead skin cells, and promoting healthy skin. The blood circulation the loofah sponge induces on the skin has been credited as a relief for rheumatic and arthritic sufferers. Loofah is environmentally safe, biodegradable, and a renewable resource.

Sauna brushes - Many sauna enthusiasts enjoy scrubbing their bodies with sauna brushes as they sweat in the sauna heat. Regardless of whether the brush has a long handle for those hard-to-reach places, a detachable handle or no handle at all, a sauna brush is a good tool for helping to cleanse and massage a sauna bather’s skin. The soft natural bristles of most sauna brushes aid skin exfoliation and can contribute greatly to a sauna session that is refreshing and invigorating for the bather. Using a sauna brush properly can also improve blood circulation, so there’s really no good reason to not have a sauna brush among your sauna accessories.

Sauna buckets - Also commonly referred to as sauna pails, sauna buckets are used to hold water in traditional Finnish-style rock saunas. Many experienced sauna bathers prefer their sauna buckets to be made of cedar, pine or copper. If you purchase an all-wooden sauna pail, be sure to empty it after each use and to store it upside down. As well, since intense heat can make wood expand and contract, you might want to consider buying a liner for your sauna bucket to help prevent leakage.

Sauna fragrances and essences - Eucalyptus, birch, pine, spruce, wintergreen, menthol, lemon and lime are just some of the deeply appealing scents available in today’s all-natural sauna fragrances. Add a few drops of sauna fragrance to your loyly water and surrender yourself to the olfactory ecstasy. Why not combine sauna therapy and aromatherapy for a powerful one-two punch of pure sensory pleasure?

Sauna headrests and backrests - Complete comfort in a sauna can be achieved through the use of these important accessories. A sauna headrest or pillow gently cushions the head of a reclining bather, while a sauna backrest offers support, relief and luxury to, as its name suggests, the person’s back. Headrests and backrests can also serve effectively as footrests, if desired by the sauna bather.

Sauna ladles - Sometimes called sauna dippers, sauna ladles are as essential to proper traditional sauna bathing as sauna buckets. It is a dipper or two of water tossed over the hot sauna rocks of a Finnish sauna that creates the vapor or loyly that many purists insist helps define an authentic sauna bath. Any water applied to the rocks in a sauna heater should be done using a dipper or ladle. Doing so keeps your hand away from the resulting steam, preventing a possible steam burn, and it helps you better control how much water you pour onto the sauna rocks and, in turn, the level of humidity in the sauna. Although many sauna ladles are made entirely of wood, some feature copper or stainless steel scoops and cedar, birch or pine handles. Some ladles also come with attached leather straps.

Sauna peg racks - Sauna peg racks are recommended for anyone who wants a place near or in the sauna room to hang their towel or bathrobe. Wooden racks with four, five or six dowel peg hooks are popular with bathers who enjoy the company of family or friends in their sauna. Peg racks such as these are sometimes called clothes racks or towel racks. Another word commonly used to describe a peg rack is hanger.

Sauna soap - Regular soap may be too harsh for some sauna bathers, but sauna soap is specifically intended for tender sensitive skin and can be very effective under sauna conditions. Long-lasting, hypo-allergenic soap with either a birch or pine fragrance is a popular choice of many hot sauna devotees. Additional bath and body products can be used either before or after a sauna session to help cleanse and moisturize your skin.

Sauna timers - Sauna bathers use timers to help them keep track of how long they’re in the sauna and ensure that they not spend too much time in the heat. Traditionalists may prefer the simplicity of a 15-minute sand timer, while folks with contemporary tastes may rely on a 90-minute electronic timer or the more modern, programmable device that often comes as part of a sleekly designed control panel and offers time-delay and automatic shut-off safety features. Since wearing a wristwatch in a hot sauna is both impractical and dangerous, the sauna timer can certainly be a useful accessory.

Sauna whisks - In Finland, a sauna whisk is called either vihta or vasta. In its most traditional form, the vihta or vasta is a thick bunch of young, tender, leafy birch twigs used to promote blood circulation and cleanse a sauna bather’s skin once perspiration has sufficiently softened it. The bather actually flagellates or slaps him or herself with the twigs after dipping them in water. Although the amount of force used usually depends on personal preference, this activity is not supposed to be painful or sexual, and many Finnish sauna enthusiasts see nothing wrong with asking someone else in the sauna to hit them with the twigs. Purists may argue that bundled birch twigs make the best sauna whisks, but, in some countries where birch is hard to find, cedar or pine is sometimes used. Whether the twigs are birch, cedar or pine, the slapping action causes a pleasant aroma to be released into the air. Other possible choices include oak, maple, mountain ash, hazel and eucalyptus.

Thermometers and hygrometers - By definition, thermometers measure temperature, by using materials that change in some way when they are heated or cooled. In a mercury or alcohol thermometer, the liquid expands as it is heated and contracts when it is cooled. German physicist Daniel Gabriel Fahrenheit invented both the alcohol and mercury thermometer in the early 1700s and introduced the temperature scale that bears his name in 1724. Swedish astronomer Anders Celsius invented the Celsius temperature scale, also known as the centigrade scale, in 1742. A hygrometer measures the moisture content or the humidity of air or any gas. Italian artist, scientist and inventor Leonardo da Vinci built the first crude hygrometer in the 1400s, and Italian physician Francesco Folli invented a more practical one in 1664. As sauna accessories, thermometers and hygrometers are available separately as two items, combined as one, or in package sets. They are vital instruments for any sauna bather who wants to monitor and control the temperature and humidity within a sauna.

THE SIMPLEST ADVICE

Filed under: Info — admin at 11:11 am on Sunday, April 27, 2008

+++ In these days of do more, be more, have more, it may be wise
to get off the beaten track and reflect on what is best for you
in the workplace. What fits your lifestyle? What fits your
integrity? What captures your interest? What warms your heart?

+++ I once read a story about a young lawyer who was joining a
prestigious firm. She was spending a quiet evening with her
grandmother and she told her that she was going to do all that
she could to advance in her new organization. She would take a
night school course to become an expert in her specialty, and
join community organizations to bring in business. She was
determined to do everything and ‘learn it all’. To her mind, the
picture she was painting was one of the perfect employee. Doing
all those things would win her recognition, acceptance and an
elevated career path.

+++ The expected approval and enthusiasm from her grandmother
was not forthcoming. Smiling at her well-meaning granddaughter,
she said: “Be good at whatever you do and do only what you are
willing to do well.” This startled the young lawyer and caused
her a great deal of deep thought. After a few nights of poor
sleep, she embraced her grandmother’s wisdom. Now she is the
esteemed senior partner in her firm.

+++ Hopefully, you have chosen your work carefully. If not,
rethink it. If so, are you making sure that you are good at what
you do? Do you stay up-to-speed in your industry? Then, add that
next step, do only what you are willing to do well. This may
take some honesty but it will have tremendous impact on all
areas of your life.

+++ Apply this wisdom liberally. Imagine the impact it will have
on your relationships!
