Take a Look, Do it By the Book: Medical Wigs to Live Confidently in the Face of Women’s Hair Loss

Our group of friends never imagined the incredible Colleen Upton, my youthful partner in crime, might someday accessorize with wigs. Her signature hair was synonymous with her femininity. Guess what? There’s no question she will be eternally the center of attention because of her impeccable looks. Only a handful of souls realize she confidently masks her medical hair loss under lace front wigs. You’d be surprised!

When we were kids growing up in high school, we regularly had our picks of boys. But in college her hair loss kicked in and she became nearly bald. I did hint at a few human hair wigs. Whatever, balding was no big deal to her. Undeterred by her hair loss, she took the time and demonstrated her threadbare confidence.

Attending our university’s baseball championship, we taunted the players until her beau purposefully flung the puck (or however you say it) at the crowd. She went to grab it and her hat fell off, unveiling her thinning hair. Undisturbed, she lobbed it playfully right back at him. She’s that kind of girl.

But, there’s two sides to every coin. One time at our semi-monhtly mid-day lemonade chat, the day she laughed nervously and confided that she opts to do without hair as a statement. She could never consider human hair wig, even if she wanted one. Then just like that she turned flush red and demanded that I should think nothing more of it. I thought “oh, well.”

I thought about it all night. Shortly after, I called about settling the wig issue. Finally we ended up with the obvious conclusion: we’d buy each other wigs We have a knack for making online wig shopping fun.

We had a ball wig shopping, stunned by the fashionable styles. We couldn’t believe that synthetic wigs are so professionally crafted for so many women. These synthetic wigs made her so lovely. Personally, I coordinated a comprehensively contemporary set of outfits to go with my synthetic wig. We do it all together, but you knew that already. For my birthday she sent me her thanks for reuniting, and confessed it encourages a lost identity that she’d forgotten. It’s encouraging to realize her reclaim her beauty. Friends can do anything!
